For me, I believe we're always doing good as artists. It's not up to us to decide what is or isn't good art...and you never know when something you created might end up inspiring someone to enhance their lives or set them on a path. Or even just simply entertain them. As long as you keep putting stuff out there you're doing your part. True, you may not be a heart surgeon or freedom fighter or astronaut and it's OK if that's not your calling.
For those who find storytelling as their vocation ...it's just as important. Our entire culture as humans revolves around it....has always been that way. From paintings on a cave wall to ones hanging at The Louvre ...human beings *need* art as much as they need a heart transplant. Video games, movies, music, TV, podcasts, photography, fine art etc etc etc...wouldn't all be billion dollar industries if that weren't true.
Anecdotal but I had spent about 2 and a half YEARS being too frustrated with the Donut tutorial to ever start picking up Blender....then I saw your videos about trends to avoid, tutorials to watch and storytelling in an image and it finally pushed me over the edge to start learning 3D and integrate it into my work. Now 3D/VFX have grown into a HUGE passion for me. Ya just never know when stuff you put out there might inspire someone and set them on a path. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
